“Among Neighbors” shows in Israeli theaters to great acclaim

“Among Neighbors” has had its limited run in Israeli theaters extended until May 7 due to enthusiastic audience responses. The documentary, which blends survivor testimony with animation, illustrates the complex and often violent dynamics between residents of a small Polish town after the Holocaust.
The film has been screening at Lev Cinema with special screenings and discussions scheduled at the Israel Museum to coincide with Holocaust Remembrance Day.
One of the subjects of the film, Yaacov Goldstein, emigrated to Israel after the events of the Holocaust. His son, Roi Goldstein, was able to attend the screening at the Israel Museum, fielding questions from the audience alongside director Yoav Potash.
The success of the initial limited run at Lev Cinemas, where several screenings were sold out, has resulted in additional showtimes being added through May 7. Israeli audiences in Tel Aviv and Raanana can reserve tickets through the Lev Cinema website. The Koret Foundation is proud to have been an early supporter of this important film.
