San Francisco YMCA: Celebrating new Dogpatch location with the Y for Youth Festival
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM, the YMCA of Greater San Francisco will be hosting their 2025 Y for Youth FREE Community Festival and Block Party at the Dogpatch Y in Crane Cove Park. Now in its second year, the Y for Youth Event is a free community block party, welcoming over 2,000 friends, families, and supporters for a day of outdoor activities, entertainment, food, music, and fun for all ages. The Y for Youth Community Festival celebrates the power and potential of young people and raises critical funds to grow and sustain Y of SF Bay Area youth programs.
This year’s festival promises to be even bigger, aiming to reach more youth, adults, and families in the city, and celebrate the opening of our Dogpatch YMCA at Crane Cove. The Dogpatch YMCA represents the first new Y of SF facility in 30 years! As part of its 2030 Vision to foster strong communities where everyone can Be, Belong, and Become, this new Y location marks the YMCA of Greater San Francisco’s 15th branch in the Bay Area. Serving Dogpatch and Potrero Hill, this facility will offer a wide range of programs, fitness opportunities (including water sports!), and wellness services for all.
The vision for the Dogpatch Y was made possible through our partnership with the San Francisco Port Authority, Associate Capital/California Barrel Company, and a coalition of local leaders and neighborhood stakeholders. This new Y facility with a Pool will be part of the Potrero Power Station Mixed-Use Project (PPS) located along the City’s Central Waterfront. This project is a transformative development in the city that will include new homes, office and lab space, retail, arts/light industrial spaces, and nearly 7 acres of open space.
