JCCSF: Making Kanbar Hall a premier location for film

On March 19, the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) celebrated the newly renovated Kanbar Hall with a special onstage conversation with comedian Sarah Silverman. The extensive renovations, which started in September 2025, create a state-of-the-art venue capable of hosting events for the JCCSF and the larger community.

One goal is to make Kanbar Hall a premier location for film in SF, a dream already being realized by partnerships with the Jewish Film Institute, which will curate year-round programming at JCCSF. The venue will host the closing weekend of the San Francisco International Film Festival. It will also serve as a key venue for the 46th annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival in July.

Kanbar Hall has always been a gathering place for the JCCSF, and these renovations further establish it as a space for all of San Francisco.
