ICC: Hosting a Record-Breaking National Leadership Summit in Washington, DC

Koret CEO Jeff Farber interviews Tal Becker at the National Leadership Summit

In August, the Israel on Campus Coalition (ICC) brought over 1,000 stakeholders together in Washington, DC for its largest-ever National Leadership Summit. The summit was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the complex Middle East landscape, foster connections among campus leaders, and inspire the next generation of pro-Israel advocates.

Koret Foundation CEO Jeff Farber interviewed Tal Becker, an international law expert and senior vice president at the Hartman Institute who recently defended Israel in front of the International Court of Justice. They discussed the importance of a nuanced and thoughtful understanding of Israel’s place in the world, explored potential futures for the Israeli government, and offered career guidance to young leaders seeking to make an impact.

Additional speakers included philanthropist Lynn Schusterman, Representative Ritchie Torres, and the parents of slain hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin z’’l.

Following the summit, attendees return to their campuses resourced with new connections, talking points, and organizing skills that will prove invaluable to their communities. Despite the size of this gathering, hundreds of students remained on the waitlist and were invited to apply again for next year’s summit, underscoring the vital role that connection and community plays in sustaining this important work.
