Volunteers woke up early Thursday to prepare and distribute warm Thanksgiving meals to seniors and homeless people throughout the Bay Area.
Volunteers prepared thousands of meals for the Glide Foundation’s 60th annual Thanksgiving distribution. Gabby Deyi, a spokesperson for Glide, said the organization was preparing to serve 3,000 meals on-site and throughout the city.
Mayor London Breed attended Glide Memorial Church’s turkey giveaway and served food to a long line of people first thing in the morning. She then attended part of the church’s service.
