Kirsten Mickelwait, Communications Officer
Kirsten Mickelwait is responsible for Koret's strategic communications efforts, including press relations, media placement, and content development for publications and the web.
Prior to joining Koret in 2010, Kirsten was an independent copywriter and marketing consultant for such organizations as the Haas School of Business, Kaiser Permanente, California Academy of Sciences, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, and Cal Performances. She worked for eight years as a principal writer in Development Communications at UC Berkeley, where her duties included speechwriting for Chancellor Chang-Lin Tien. Previously, she held communications positions at the American Conservatory Theater, Royal Viking Line, and McGraw-Hill Publications.
Kirsten is the author of one novel, several short stories, and feature articles in national publications. She received her bachelor's degree with high honors in English from UC Berkeley and has served on the board of the Friends of the Bancroft Library. She lives with her family in the North Bay.
